How Our Clinical Services Work

Curigo Pharma provides pharmacist-led private healthcare services.

Every request for treatment is clinically assessed. A pharmacist reviews the information provided during your consultation, including relevant medical information, to determine whether treatment is safe and appropriate.

Depending on the service, treatment may be:

  • supplied by a pharmacist under an appropriate Patient Group Direction (PGD); or
  • prescribed by a pharmacist independent prescriber following an appropriate clinical assessment.

What is a PGD?

A Patient Group Direction (PGD) is a legal framework that allows an appropriately qualified healthcare professional to supply specified medicines to patients who meet defined clinical criteria, without an individual prescription being issued.

Independent Prescribing

For services provided through independent prescribing, a pharmacist independent prescriber assesses whether treatment is clinically appropriate and may issue an individual private prescription where appropriate.

The clinical and legal framework used will depend on the treatment and service being provided.

In all cases, treatment is only supplied where the pharmacist is satisfied that it is safe and clinically appropriate for the individual patient.

Supply of Medicines

Medicines supplied directly by Curigo Pharma will be prepared, labelled where required and supplied from:
